Ammonia Nitrate Plant, Moranbah, QueenslandProject Value: $1 billion

This was a significant project of Queensland located in the Bowen Basin, 4.5kms from Moranbah, Queensland.

The project consisted of the design, approval and construction of an ammonia nitrate plant and required temporary and permanent housing for the construction workers and the employees of Incitec Pivot Limited. Access, water, power, telecommunications and sewerage capacity were some of the constraints requiring resolution. The development also required the approval of an Environmental Impact Statement, associated Development Applications, Operational Works and other site approvals. The project was time constrained and not initially supported by the local community of Moranbah.

  • Community consultation and stakeholder engagement services working with the proponents in the Bowen Basin, Mackay and Brisbane regions to develop support for the development and timely approval of the Development Applications and Environmental Impact Statement.
  • Design, approval and construction of the expansion of Goonyella Road access to the ammonia nitrate plant and construction camp.
